The Audacity of Hope

Here’s the thing about hope: we most desperately need it when it seems most unlikely to appear. When things are dark and upside down, when we’re hurting, exhausted, and feel like we can’t keep going.

And yet, that’s exactly where we find it.

Hope is audacious. It declares something better in the face of despair. It promises light though darkness is everywhere. It signals now will eventually give way to a greater next.

Hope doesn’t fix everything. It doesn’t wipe away the tears or remove the current pain. But it can buoy us just enough to keep swimming.

Hope defies the present. Hope keeps us afloat if we’ll let it.

Hope has the audacity to show up when all hope seems lost - in the midst of heartbreak, suffering, disappointment, and loss.

Hope is all around us if we open our eyes to see it.

Blooms after winter
Morning after night
Reminders to hope
Through darkness, light

To see today: Hope. Where do you notice audacious hope keeping you afloat?
