Hi, I’m Laura and
I train monsters.
Not literal monsters, but those monster-like emotions that are powerful and unruly. I help people come fully alive by turning their monster feelings into monster friends. Explore my latest book, Monster Feelings, written for kids (though adults enjoy it, too!) as a playful way of identifying and naming emotions.
Monster Feelings Book
The illustrated book focuses on seven core emotions: Sadness, Envy, Shame, Love, Anger, Joy, and Fear. Kids get to meet each monster’s circle of friends (i.e. related emotions visualized as a ‘feeling wheel’) and explore how they can become friends. Learn something new every time you read it!
What People Are Saying
“I so appreciate how this book dives into more complex emotions in such a colorful, imaginative, and disarming way. The 'feeling wheels' full of synonyms are a welcome reminder that our emotional experiences are often as unique as we are.”
— Rebecca Channer, Founder of CodeBreakers
“Not only does Monster Feelings help kids navigate their emotions, but it will also be an excellent resource and reference for summer camp counselors (typically teenagers or young adults) as they guide kids throughout their camp experience.”
— Travis Allison, Founder of CampHacker and Co-Founder of Go Camp Pro
“Monster Feelings has 7 cute, little monsters & each one is a different emotion that we all feel. Children big and small would enjoy and benefit from this book as it teaches mindfulness in a fun & creative way. Excellent for at home or as a classroom resource! I would highly recommend this book.”
— Kim, Owner of Kim’s Kreative Korner

Emotions matter.
Our emotions are nuanced, varied, complex, beautiful, and at times mysterious. They punctuate our experiences and surface deeper beliefs. They allow us to see the world in color instead of black and white. Far from a sign of weakness or instability, our emotions allow us to come fully alive.
