A Do-Over
Have you ever had those days where you just need a do-over? Kids weren’t listening, tempers flared, deadlines were missed, resentment seeped in, and everyone felt mad and alienated?
(raising my own hand)
Sadly, we can’t (yet) travel back in time and have a second go at tough situations. We can’t change the past. It’s easy to get stuck - fixating on what was and perhaps unconsciously resigning ourselves to the inevitability of whatever happens next.
But in this present moment, we have agency. We can do things differently starting now. We can breathe deeply and calm our heart rate. We can apologize. We can reset and try again.
It still won’t fix the past, but it can change the future.
Today I choose to try again. To give and accept grace. To ask forgiveness. To name what I’m feeling. To get curious. To seek connection over perfection.
To choose today: A do-over (when you need it). How will you choose to try again?
